"The scale of the Spiral Jetty tends to fluctuate depending on where the viewer happens to be. Size determines an object, but scale determines art (...) This description echoes and reflect Brancusi sketch of James Joice as a 'spiral ear' because it suggest both e a visual and an aural scale.
